Who is Charlie McKenzie?

I'm Charlie McKenzie, a composer focused on music for video games and visual media. I started making video game music back in 2016, which slowly turned into a deep passion for creating interactive sound, atmosphere, and story through music.

I moved to Chico State University to pursue a music degree studying music theory, sound design, and recording arts while also performing as a pianist in various bands. My work leans toward electronic, RPG, and retro-inspired styles, but I'm always chasing whatever sound best serves the world and emotion of a project. My goal is to compose for indie games and film projects that care about mood, detail, and identity, while also having a diverse style that works for multiple different types of games.
